80s Nursing Grads Gather
Bloomsburg University Class of 1988 nursing graduates, along with spouses and lifelong friends, recently gathered together. Stu Marvin 鈥78 was inducted into the Luzerne County Sports Hall of Fame. An 11-time All-American, Marvin parlayed his achievements into coaching the women鈥檚 and men鈥檚 swim teams at Bloomsburg. His 15-year career saw him achieve multiple PSAC awards, and the opportunity to coach collegiate champions.

Walter Zabicki 鈥80 retired from the Onslow County Sheriff's Office. He is now a member of the Holly Ridge, NC Town Council and a substitute teacher with the Onslow County Schools.
Richard A. DiLiberto Jr. 鈥82 was presented with the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section鈥檚 (TIPS) Edmund S. Muskie Pro Bono Service Award. This award recognizes an ABA member who exhibits the qualities attributed to the late Senator Muskie, who was secretary of state under President Jimmy Carter, and later a distinguished leader of TIPS, and his dedication to justice for all citizens, and public service. DiLiberto is a litigation partner in the Wilmington, Delaware law firm of Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP where he has been co-chairman of the government relations committee, chairman of the paralegal committee, the personal injury litigation section, and the continuing legal education committee.
Neil M. Boyd 鈥86 has written a book, Building Community at Work (Oxford Press). Based on theoretical foundations and empirical findings from the science of management and community research and action, Building Community at Work guides scholars, employees, and leaders of organizations toward creating communities at work in any institutional sector. Boyd is the David J. & Deborah West Professor of Management, and Chair of the Management & Organizations Department in the Freeman College of Management at Bucknell University.

Adaarema S. Kelly 鈥99M is the new principal of Jefferson-Houston PreK-8 IB School in Alexandria, Virginia. With more than 25 years of experience in K-12 education, Kelly has served as a principal, assistant principal, and intersession coordinator. She formerly led the district鈥檚 Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School.

Angela (Shoffler) Charnosky 鈥01 has been promoted to vice president of enterprise services at Weis Markets. Charnosky, who joined the company in 2021, has more than 20 years of experience in multiple information technology positions. She oversees the Company鈥檚 program management, business systems analysis, quality assurance, and enterprise architecture teams.
Rebecca Stametz 鈥02 was inducted into the Bernie Romanoski Sr. Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in Paxinos. At Bloomsburg, Stametz was the soccer team captain in 2002 and led the Huskies to a PSAC championship. Stametz earned four letters for head coach Sandy Dickson's program on the pitch. During her time at Bloomsburg, the team qualified for the NCAA playoffs each year, including a 2000 run to the NCAA Division 2 quarterfinals. Stametz tied a school record in 2001, netting four goals in a single game against California.
Julie (Stavig) Holmes 鈥07 won the title of Mrs. South Carolina America. An Alpha Sigma Tau sorority member, she as a representative on the 2005 Homecoming Court. She and her husband, Greg, are parents of three young children. Together, they own The Window Source of the Carolinas, a residential window and door replacement company. Holmes also serves as the office manager at Grace鈥檚 Skincare Lounge, a med spa in Charlotte, NC. Her dedication to community service is evident through her volunteer work at the Family Room through Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte at Hemby Children鈥檚 Hospital. Julie has played a key role in organizing numerous fundraisers and drives to support Ronald McDonald House and other local charities.

John Carlos Tavares 鈥17/鈥18M, a manager at Boyer & Ritter, was named a 鈥2025 Young Leader鈥 by the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. Tavares, who joined Boyer & Ritter in 2018, is a CPA and a member of the firm鈥檚 Nonprofit Practice Group. Outside of work, Tavares is a committee member of the United Way of the Capital Region on the Basic Needs Grant Panel and recently joined the board and Finance Committee of Latino Connection, an organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and uplifting the Latino community.
