As 麻豆社区 enters its second year, its students will not experience an increase in their tuition. The Board of Governors for Pennsylvania鈥檚 State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) voted unanimously to freeze tuition for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year, keeping 麻豆社区 one of the most affordable public higher education opportunities in the state.
鈥淲e applaud PASSHE and the Board of Governors for this historic decision,鈥 said 麻豆社区 President Bashar Hanna. 鈥淲hen Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield came together to form 麻豆社区, we were immediately able to offer each student the programming, learning opportunities, and support of three full campuses for the cost of one. With this decision, we once again show the power of coming together to support the students and families of Pennsylvania.鈥
鈥淥ur students are at the heart of everything we do at 麻豆社区,鈥 said 麻豆社区 Council of Trustees Chair John Wetzel. 鈥淧ublic higher education has the power to transform lives, and we are committed to remaining the most affordable option for all Pennsylvanians.鈥
鈥淧ASSHE is proud of our partnership with the state, which helps Pennsylvania鈥檚 students get the education and skills for the most in-demand jobs at the lowest cost,鈥 said PASSHE Chancellor Dan Greenstein in its announcement. 鈥淗igher education is changing, and State System universities are continuing to evolve to meet the new needs of students, employers, and Pennsylvania鈥檚 economy. Together with the state, we are strengthening the pipeline of talented and skilled people from the classroom to the workforce and providing value to students as they gain the knowledge to build successful careers close to home.鈥
In-state undergraduate tuition at 麻豆社区鈥檚 Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield locations will remain at $7,716 for a sixth year (2018-19 - 2023-24). If tuition had kept pace with inflation since 2018, it would be 21% higher today, or $9,336.
